Our medical college aims to be an organization that contributes to the people and neighboring society by fulfilling medical services based on Ewha’s Christian spirit. The Ewha Medical Care (EMC), Ewha’s overseas medical volunteer corps, began its voluntary medical service activity in Nepal in 1989, providing aid in areas with medical needs and spreading Christianity. Currently, our voluntary medical service activities have reached Vietnam, Cambodia, and Uzbekistan. The activities of EMC have played a significant role in strengthening the reputation of Ewha globally and improving the image of our nation. On each trip, the EMC has provided medical services for more than a thousand people and has even brought over patients requiring complex surgical procedures to Korea for pro bono surgey in Ewha Womans University Medical Center. Being acknowledged for its contributions to developing nations, the EMC has been presented with the ‘Korean-American Faithful Health Care Provider (2008)’ award and the ‘Minister of Health and Welfare Award (2012)’.
