IIAS
The Institute for International and Area Studies (IIAS) serves as an umbrella coordinating organization for our research and training centers, including the Public Diplomacy Center, the Global Leadership Center, and the Center for Global Social Responsibility, and the EU Center. The IIAS provides innovative learning and leading-edge re-search opportunities for members of the Ewha Comunity and bridges the gap between academics and practitioners. It brings together researchers and student research assistants for major research initiatives and projects such as the Global Top 5 Project on “Social Capital, Democratic Governance, and Corporate Social Responsibility”. We partner with other institutes and universities in Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America, and Africa, and with government and non-government organizations to provide opportunities for scholars, students, and the general public. We work closely to arrange workshops, conferences, and publication opportunities with the Scholars Group for Public Diplomacy of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), with the Asian Political and International Studies Association (APISA), with the Korean International Studies Association (KISA), and with Palgrave Macmillan Publishers. The IIAS reaches out to the wider academic community through its journal, the Asian International Studies Review (AISR). Ranked in the top bracket of journals by the National Research Foundation, AISR is the official journal of both APISA and KISA, and also supports student publication initiatives. In addition, the Center for Korean Language Education and Culture (CKLEAC) is also housed under the IIAS, and focuses mainly on research into the acquisition, pedagogy assessment, use and analysis of Korean as a second or foreign language in Korea and Abroad.

AISR
The Asian International Studies Review (AISR) is a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal, published biannually in June and December in coordination with the Ewha Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) and the Institute for International and Area Studies (IIAS). It is a registered journal at the Korea Research Foundation and has been listed by the Korea Citation Index (KCI) since 2010, and in 2018 was accepted for listing with Scopus. The AISR is the official journal of the Korean International Studies Association (KISA) and one of the five journals endorsed by the Asian Political and International Studies Association (APISA).
The principle aim of AISR is to advance international studies research broadly defined to include international relations, international economics, international security, international law, development cooperation, comparative politics, international trade and investment, international business, Asian and cross-cultural studies. It also supports networking and the exchange of ideas between academics and practitioners across disciplines, countries, and regions in order to give a greater voice to scholars of the international interactions of Asia, and to Asian-based scholars of international affairs.
