Since we began in 2005, the Department of Medical Education has grown from the primary focus on transition of curriculum from College of Medicine to School of Medicine to an academic department with international recognition for medical education research and development.

Our department supports the Medical School’s educational mission through several programs, such as the Patient - Doctor - Society, the Introduction to Clinical Medicine, Ethics Grand Rounds, Communication Skills, Leadership Training, and Professionalism Workshops. We also organize various educational activities through the Ewha Medical Simulation Center to prepare for the OSCE and CPX.

Our faculty participate in a wide range of medical education projects in addition to management of the Bio-ethics Policy Research Center and the development of ethical guidelines at the Xenotransplantation Research Center.
