The Department of Physiology, as an essential component of Ewha Womans University College of Medicine, began in 1945 to provide professional training to future leaders in the field of medicine and biomedical research. Our faculty understand the university's mission in education and research, and participate in a wide range of medical education and research projects. The faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students, and staff in our department all strive for excellence in medical education and biomedical research, in order to understand the molecular mechanisms for functional organization and regulation of the human body, identify the factors involved in disease pathophysiology and provide efficient therapeutic strategy for pulmonary, cardiovascular, renal and neuronal diseases.
