Department of Parasitology have been established in 1972 and known as a small laboratory but still works for several supports in the Ewha Medical School. The Department was provided with fully equipped laboratories for aims to achieve excellences in both research and education in the field of parasitology. The Department supports the vivid parasitolgocial practices for medical students and the several exploring programs for obtaining the basic current parasitolgocal status. Through the education programs, the Department aim to teach and conduct the parasitologists in the future. Also, the Department supports the free diagnostic services of human parasitic diseases.

Prof. Yang have been studied mainly on the pathobiology of sparganosis, tissue invading parasites and worked for collecting the novel data in anisakiasis and toxoplasmosis.
