The Department of Pharmacology, which was founded in 1952, has been opened lectures and practical courses of pharmacology in both College of Medicine and Graduate School of Medical Sciences of Ewha Womans University. Medical students are being educated to use drugs properly for patients through understanding responses of drugs and their mechanisms of action, side effects and toxicity on human body. Graduate program is designed to learn basic and the latest knowledge of pharmacology and actively engage in current research of each faculty with expertise, thereby helping students to be competent and independent researchers. In every semester, we open courses of 'Principles of Pharmacology I & II', 'Pharmacology Seminar I & II', ‘Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology’, and 'Molecular Pharmacology' by team teaching. In addition, each faculty provides a specialized lecture related with individual research topic.
